There is not much point in a flame retardant sheet and cover with an ordinary pillowcase on top, and an inspector can pick a pillowcase up in a second. These are made from polyester, which the listing describes as inherently flame retardant, so the property is in the fibre and not in a coating. They sit with the flame retardant fitted sheets and flame retardant flat sheets in the same eight colours.
BS 7175 is the British Standard test for how bedding behaves when it meets an ignition source, and Crib 7 is the level these pillowcases are listed to. Our waterproof FR duvet protector is listed to Crib 5, a lower level, so check which one your fire risk assessment calls for.
Eight colours are listed, so you can match the rest of the bed. One customer found these thicker than the pillowcases they had used before. Machine wash, then tumble dry on a medium to cool heat. The range also includes flame retardant pillows, which are a separate item.

Which colours can I buy?
Cream, Dark Green, Light Blue, Light Green, Navy Blue, Pink, White and Wine.
What size is the pillowcase?
One size, 48cm by 74cm (19 by 29 inches), made to fit a standard pillow.
Are they machine washable?
Yes. Machine wash, then tumble dry on a medium to cool heat.
How many pairs can I order at once?
A single pair, 5 pairs or 10 pairs, with no minimum order. Ten pairs covers a small care home.
What does Crib 7 mean on a pillowcase?
Crib 7 is the level these pillowcases are listed to, and it is higher than the Crib 5 on our waterproof FR duvet protector. Your fire risk assessment names the level it needs, so check it before you order for a care home, hostel or nursery.
Does the flame retardancy wash out?
The listing says polyester is inherently flame retardant and that washing does not affect it, so it is not a coating that rinses off. If your assessor wants the test report, ring 01204 455755 before you order a pack.
