What is double yarn and why does it matter at 600 GSM?

Double yarn means two cotton yarns are twisted together before weaving. This produces a denser pile per square centimetre than single-yarn construction at the same GSM. The practical difference isn't visible on day one — both feel similar initially. After twenty or thirty wash cycles, double yarn holds its structure and single yarn doesn't. If your face cloths have gone thin or rough within a few months, the construction was almost certainly single-yarn open-end cotton.

How does this differ from the 600 GSM zero twist?

Different construction, different feel. Zero twist has a softer, more open pile — lighter on skin, suited to sensitive skincare routines.
