Our 600 GSM bath towels sit deliberately between the two: a genuine step up in density from 500 GSM, without the cost or the longer drying time of our heaviest 700 GSM double yarn range.
At 70 x 130cm, the size is unchanged from our 500 GSM towel — the extra weight is in the cotton, not the footprint.
600 GSM gives you a noticeably fuller towel than 500 GSM without asking you to compromise on how quickly it dries between uses, which is the actual trade-off that matters once you're washing towels weekly. Yes, it's a genuine step up in density, not just a higher number on the label.
How does it compare to your 700 GSM double yarn range?
700 GSM uses a double yarn weave for extra density and takes slightly longer to dry; 600 GSM is a single-yarn weave that's thicker than our 500 GSM range without that longer drying time.
Will 600 GSM dry more slowly than my current towels?
A little, since there's more cotton fibre absorbing water than a 500 GSM towel. Most people find that trade worth it for the extra thickness, and it still dries noticeably faster than our heaviest 700 GSM range once it's out of the wash.
