Construction

Care

Wash at 40°C. No fabric softener — the open pile structure of zero twist cotton is particularly affected by softener residue, which fills the gaps between fibres and progressively reduces the soft-touch feel. Air dry or tumble dry on low. The pile will become slightly firmer with each wash if dried on high heat.

What is zero twist cotton and why does it feel different? 

Zero twist cotton uses fibres with minimal twist before weaving. Standard cotton yarn is twisted tightly — which makes it strong but slightly rougher to the touch. Zero twist leaves the fibres more open, creating a softer, lighter feel on contact. The trade-off is that zero twist cloths can be slightly less durable at very high wash temperatures than tightly spun alternatives. At 40°C domestic washing, there's no meaningful difference.

Is this suitable for sensitive skin? 

Yes. The open pile creates less mechanical friction than a tighter-woven face cloth, which matters for skin that reacts to repeated rubbing. At 600 GSM, there's enough pile density that the cloth doesn't feel thin or scratchy — just soft. For the most reactive skin types, the bamboo range is worth comparing.
