Black towels look sharp until they don't. The ones that fade to a grey-black after ten washes are almost always the result of lower-grade yarn — loose construction means dye bleeds faster and the pile thins sooner. The ring-spun cotton in these guest towels is spun from long fibres only, combed to remove the short ones that cause shedding and uneven colour over time.
At 500 GSM, the weight is enough to feel properly substantial — not the lightweight black towel that looks fine folded but disappoints on first use. The 30 x 50 cm size is the standard guest towel format for washrooms, treatment rooms, cloakrooms and anywhere a hand towel would be too bulky.
Wash at 40°C with similar colours and a mild detergent. Avoid bleach entirely on dark towels. Fabric softeners reduce absorbency over time — skip them.
