Lovely and thick good quality at a reasonable price
Good quality towels. Much thicker than most on the market. Would recommend!
They seem very good quality although I haven't washed any yet. Very quick delivery.
Thick, well made, decent quality.
Great tea towel and very absorbent
Great tea towels
These were ok, not as good as the ones I already own but not as thin as shop bought ones for similar prices so I would recommend. However I decided to return my full order due to the poor very quality of other items. Long refund process. Sent the return 7 days ago and still no refund
Well made ,a good size and wash well
This is my 2nd purchase of these fantastic tea towels, the previous 12 have lasted a few years. They don’t slip and slide over crockery to dry, they absorb well and are cheaper here than i’ve ever seen them, so highly recommend
Most tea towels are flat weave. They absorb a reasonable amount of water in the first pass, then they're wet and you're still drying. A terry towelling tea towel has a loop-pile construction — the same structure that makes bath towels absorbent — which means it pulls water away from the surface rather than redistributing it. Glasses, cutlery, and ceramics come out dry, not streaky.
These are made from 100% cotton. Cotton loop-pile softens with washing rather than stiffening, which is the opposite of what happens with cotton-polyester blends that feel thin and scratchy after a few cycles. No lint, no fluff on glassware, no threads catching on cutlery.
At 50 x 70 cm these are a practical working size for kitchen use — large enough to handle a full dinner plate without refolding, compact enough to dry quickly between uses.
Suitable for domestic kitchens, restaurants, cafes, catering operations, hotel kitchens, and any commercial food preparation environment where performance matters more than price.

What is a terry towelling tea towel?
A terry tea towel uses the same loop-pile weave as a bath towel, rather than the flat weave used in most standard tea towels. The loop structure gives significantly higher absorbency per pass — it pulls water away from glassware and crockery rather than spreading it. The result is streak-free drying with fewer passes.
Why do these leave glassware streak-free?
Streaks on glassware after drying are usually caused by a flat-weave towel that's partially wet redistributing a thin film of water rather than removing it. Cotton loop-pile draws moisture into the pile rather than spreading it across the surface. That's the structural difference, not a matter of towel quality — it's how the weave works.
Are these suitable for commercial kitchens?
Yes. 100% cotton terry towelling is the standard specification for catering and hospitality kitchen use because it absorbs faster, handles repeated washing well, and doesn't leave lint or thread on surfaces. These wash well at standard domestic and commercial laundry temperatures.
How do I wash these to keep them absorbent?
Machine wash with similar colours, use a standard detergent, and avoid fabric softeners — softener deposits coat the cotton fibres and reduce the loop-pile's absorbency over successive washes. Tumble dry on low or line dry. They become more absorbent after the first two or three washes as the pile fully opens up.
What size are these tea towels?
50 x 70 cm — a standard working tea towel size suitable for hand drying, dish drying, and general kitchen use in domestic and commercial settings.
