Made in Bolton from 100% ring-spun carded cotton. The ring-spinning produces a tighter, more durable yarn than open-end spun cotton — which is the standard in most institutional face cloths at this price point. The practical difference: ring-spun cloths at 500 GSM hold their pile through sixteen or more weeks of commercial use. Open-end cloths at the same weight typically start degrading visibly at six to eight weeks.

Commercial wash at 60°C. No fabric softener in commercial laundry — it reduces absorbency and can interact with detergent chemistry. Tumble dry on medium. Replace when pile visibly thins — with ring-spun construction at 500 GSM, this should be at sixteen weeks minimum under standard commercial use.
For a lighter, faster-drying institutional option: 400 GSM institutional face cloths. For a more substantial cloth for premium guest rooms: 600 GSM Royal Egyptian double yarn.
How does 500 GSM institutional differ from 500 GSM Royal Egyptian?
Same weight, different positioning. The institutional version is white-only, optimised for commercial laundry at 60°C, and priced for volume. The Royal Egyptian is available in 19 colours, optimised for 40°C domestic washing, and positioned for home and mid-range hospitality use. Both use ring-spun cotton. The institutional version prioritises washability; the Royal Egyptian prioritises colour range and home use aesthetics.
Is ring-spun cotton worth the premium over open-end at institutional scale?
Yes — and the maths proves it. Open-end cloths at 500 GSM replaced every eight weeks at commercial laundry scale cost more annually than ring-spun cloths at a higher unit price replaced every sixteen weeks. The more cloths you're rotating, the bigger the saving. For a 50-room hotel with 150 face cloths in rotation, the construction choice affects annual linen costs significantly.
