What are towel bales?

What does weight mean when it comes to towel bale sets?
Weight in reference to towels is the thickness of the towel. Weight is measured in GSM - grams per square metre - and the higher the GSM the heavier and thicker the towel. High GSM towels have more fibres and are therefore more absorbent than low GSM towels made from the same material. That's why towels in the 450 to 600 GSM range are deemed more luxurious because they're more efficient at drying the body. They also feel extra cosy and warm when you wrap yourself up in them after a long shower or a relaxing bath.
Most bathroom towels are at least 450 GSM, but some go all the way up to 700 GSM. It's important to keep in mind that the thicker a towel is, the longer it will take to dry. If you have limited space for drying towels in your bathroom and the towels must be folded in order to fit on a towel rail, a very high GSM towel bale set might not be right for you because the towels could remain damp in between uses. Plus, some towels are simply better thinner depending on their application. For example, gym towels and beach towels tend to be just 300 GSM because their thin nature allows them to be folded or rolled up easily for travelling.

Egyptian cotton is deemed the best quality cotton in the world. It has extra-long fibres and this reduces the risk of breakages when the material is spun into yarns. Egyptian cotton is softer and more durable than normal cotton which makes it ideal for towels that are used and washed heavily. When you invest in Egyptian cotton towel bales you can feel confident that the towels will have a long lifespan with less risk of them becoming thin and bobbly over time. That doesn't mean to say that standard cotton towels aren't good quality.

What colours of towel bales are available?
